Jean Weldy Harbin, 92 of Kissimmee, Florida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Jean was born in Sylacauga, Alabama, the daughter of the late Fredrick Washington Weldy and Bernice Gothard Weldy. She attended the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama. She moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1972 from Montgomery, Alabama. Jean was an active past member of the Kissimmee Garden Club, Bromeliad Society of Central Florida, and the Central Florida Theatre Organ Society.
accomplishment was being a wife and mother of 6 children who she loved and cherished with all of her heart. She always said her children were the greatest joys of her life and they were her jewels. She had a quick wit and didn’t even know she was funny. She was very smart and savvy and had a great sense of business and together she and her husband built an extraordinary and successful life together of which she was most proud of. Her family will always love and miss her and they feel extremely blessed. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Charles T. Harbin, Jr. in 1994.
Jean is survived by her sister, Anne Weldy Sparks of Huntsville, Alabama; three sons, Charles T. Harbin, III (Arleen) of Sugar Land, Texas, Fredric W. Harbin (Cathy) of Kissimmee, Florida, Gabriel G. Harbin (Debbie) of Spring, Texas; three daughters, Anne Lorren Harbin of Fruita, Colorado, Jean Harbin Deetz (Keith) of Somers, Montana, Elizabeth Harbin Gillespie (Keith) of Marion, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Charles T. Harbin, IV of Houston, Texas, Madeleine Harbin of Bluffton, South Carolina, Fredric W. Harbin, Jr. of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Holly Harbin Talbot (Travis) of Canyon Lake, Texas, Heather Harbin of Ft. Worth, Texas, Laura Deetz Bell (Shane) of Apopka, Florida, Keith C. Deetz, Jr. (Alexis) of Kalispell, Montana; 2 great grandchildren, Sage Genevieve Talbot of Canyon Lake, Texas and Hailey Jean Deetz of Kalispell, Montana; a very special and loving caregiver and companion, Malory Vilgrain, Orlando, Florida; and a host of nephews and nieces.
