Jean Williams Shelton, 83, of Milford, wife of George A Shelton, Sr., passed away peacefully in her home on July 25, 2014. Jean was born on April 1, 1931 in Bridgeport, CT to the late George Malcolm Williams and Frances Annette Freeman Williams.
A graduate of New Haven State Teacher’s College, Jean taught in the Milford Public Schools for over 35 years. Jean was also an active member of her community serving on the board of Bridges, Good Shepard Daycare, and the American Red Cross. In addition she was a member of the United Way, Soroptimist International, St.
Jean is survived by her children George A Shelton, Jr. of Hamden, CT; Colleen Shelton of Ithaca, NY; and Deirdre (Conrad) Green of Milford, CT; as well as her sister, Loretta Williams Barrett, of North Brunswick, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Natalie and Curtis Green, George Malcolm Shelton, and Arianna Pina, as well as her cousin Rose Bishop and her other loving cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and her Thursday Domino Group.
