A. Jean Satterfield Simpson, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 3, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born March 4, 1923, in Pocatello, Idaho, the daughter of Ammon Y. Satterfield and Jane Spence Satterfield. Jean was the eighth of nine children.

She attended Whittier Elementary School, Alameda Jr. High, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1942. She married Acy Gene Pellum and had four wonderful children; Peggy JoAnn Betty, Marilyn Jean May, Brent Eugene Simpson Pellum, Gary Lynn Simpson.

She later meet and married Boyd “Bud” Simpson and had one more wonderful child, Darrell Kent Simpson. In her youth, she was a very accomplished acrobatic dancer and loved to sing. She performed with The Pinkerton Dance Academy at the worlds fair in Chicago, Illinois and in later years sang with the Commeatas for Pocatello and traveled to Europe which was one of the highlights of her life.

For many years, she was a loving and caring Home Health Nurse to many people, and her door was always open to anyone who needed care or needed a place to stay. Jean was a very meticulous housekeeper which helped her to be one of the first and best cleaners for Varsity Contractors for many years.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, and sisters, Lucile, Rulon, Ruby, Charles “Chic”, Grace, Homer, and Jack; her four children, Peggy, Marilyn, Brent, and Gary; grandson, Bryan Seward.

She is survived by her sister, Veda Anderson, her son, Darrell Simpson, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Becky Sibson, who was always there when she needed her.
