Jean Marie Carroll, formerly of Three Oaks, Michigan, died on July 4, 2007 at Haven Park Christian Nursing Home in Zeeland, Michigan, where she had moved to be near her daughter.
Jean was born to George and Jenny (Martin) Grosse On April 10, 1915 in Hartford, Michigan and was raised in Three Oaks. She graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1932.
Jean had eight brothers and sisters whom she loved dearly, Richard, George, Louise, Betty, Bob, Mark “Bud”, Herb and Barb. On January 27, 1940 she married Robert Carroll and together they raised three children, Mike, Pat, and Peggy. Robert preceded her in death on March 18, 1982.Jean was a tender, loving wife and mother. She was involved in her children’s lives and was an active member of The First Congregational Church of Three Oaks. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge, and cherished time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Mike (Galena) Carroll of Montgomery, Illinois; Pat (Debbie) Carroll of Fort White, Florida and Peggy (Glenn) Benko of Holland, Michigan; grandchildren, Renee, Holly and Mike; five great grandchildren; her sister, Betty MacKenzie and her sisters-in-law, Vida Grosse, Florence Grosse and Phyllis Grosse.
