Jean Margaret (Pires) Coyer, 74 of Norwich, Ct., passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 12, 2022 at the Greentree Manor in Waterford, Ct., after a short illness. Most affectionally known as “Peggy” to all, was born December 5, 1948. She was the beloved daughter of the late John D. Pires Sr. and Pearl L. (Hazard) Pires of Norwich Ct. She was the loving companion of the late Myron Breninghouse for over 30 years.
She attended the Norwich, Ct. school system, graduating from Norwich Free Academy in the class of 1966. She was a dedicated employee with ACLS Linen before retiring in 2011. She loved being a bartender at the American Legion Post #4 in Norwich, Ct. her laughter and comradery will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her beloved daughters Pamela Russell (Vincent Barnhill), Angela Pires, Mary Coyer. Her 10 grandchildren Brandon Russell, Shiquel Pires-Dunn, Joseph Esquilin, Shyla Houtman, Julian Jackson, Laurence Barnhill, Isaiah Houtman, Diovanny Pires-Hill, Jalisa Houtman, Alysa Houtman and 4 great grandchildren Arravean, Armel, Alaurieanna Pires and Maliya Russell.
