Jean L. Schildman, 85, of Jacksonville, IL died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born February 23, 1926 in Jacksonville; the daughter of William K. and Mildred Chapman Davison. She married W. Wallace Schildman on February 25, 1952 in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2007.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews by marriage including a niece and goddaughter, Maggie Ruby of Springfield, whom she has loved as a daughter.
Mrs. Schildman graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1944 and from Hardin Brown Business College’s 16 month private secretarial course. After graduation, she was employed by J. Allen Biggs, DDS and later worked at Franklin Bank in Franklin, IL. She retired following 26 years as secretary and receptionist for Donald E. Kolmer DDS.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed extensive travel experiences with her husband. She loved all animals and especially enjoyed caring for her dogs, Lucky and Jack.
