Jean Ellen Durham, 81 of Flagstaff, AZ passed away peacefully on February 28th 2014.

Jean began her journey in Johnstown, PA on August 28, 1932. She developed a love for music which continued throughout her life. She played the violin in school and eventually played for the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra.

In 1960, Jean, her husband and three children moved to Phoenix, where they had three more children. Jean’s six children were the light of her life. She gave her unconditional love as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a friend to many.

In the mid 70’s Jean met her second husband, Claude M Durham. Jean and Claude enjoyed spending time with their friends and family at their cabin in Colorado. In 1996, Jean and Claude moved to Flagstaff, AZ, where they loved the mountain life. Jean was an avid naturalist whose love of AZ led her to explore every bit of the state and inspired future generations of her family by teaching them to appreciate and explore on their own.

Jean learned to play the guitar and ukulele and spent many nights singing around the campfire with her family and friends. Her hobbies included crochet (200+ Afghans), gardening, watching movies and playing games. She loved her flowers especially the hollyhocks and tulips. Jean loved life and will be greatly missed.
