Mrs. Jean D. Capes, age 84, of Moreland, GA passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, GA. Mrs. Capes was born on Wednesday, June 8, 1932, in Moreland, GA to the late Peter James “P.J.” Davis and Freddie Manley Davis.
She graduated from Newnan High School in 1950 and worked at Life of Georgia Insurance and Bob Kohl Associates as an Administrative Assistant. She was a devout member of First Baptist Church of Moreland and will be remembered as a caring mother and loving grandmother. Mrs. Capes was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Capes.
She is survived by her son, Dr. James P. (Pat) Capes and his wife Jan; grandchildren, Emma Capes and Davis Capes; a sister, Alyce McDaniel; a brother, Charles Edwin Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
