Jean Daphne (Theobald) Glans, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on May 4, 2023, in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was born on November 20, 1932, in Bedford, England, to Horace and Constance (Smith) Theobald.
Jean had a deep love for her family, especially her husband Ronald D. Glans, whom she married on August 21, 1954, in Bedford, England. Together, they spent many happy years in Idaho and Connecticut before making Hobbs, New Mexico their home. Although Ronald preceded her in death, their enduring love and partnership continued to inspire those who knew them.
Jean worked for the University of the Southwest for many years, where she met many lifelong friends. She was also a member of the Second Tuesday Book Club, where she formed close and lasting friendships with the ladies she met. She had a captivating presence and loved sharing stories from her life. Her strength, beauty and warmth inspired many who knew her.
