Jean Chatham Payne, age 91, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Lecil J. Payne; son, Larry Payne; parents, Roy and Mabel Chatham; brothers and sister-in-law, Hughes Chatham, Fred, and Louise Chatham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Noah and Montecue Herrington; son-in-law, Autley Musselwhite.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Payne Bruce, Buford, GA, Melissa (Keith) Stewart, Buford, GA; daughter-in-law, Genelle Payne, Buford, GA; son-in-law, Dennis Bruce, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Payne, Lori Musselwhite; Justin (Kari) Payne, David Stewart, Denise (Rob) Burgess; great-grandchildren, Hannah Payne, Gracie Bruce, Sterling Burgess, Emma Burgess, Zane Dyer, Kayleigh Payne, Karoline Payne, Quinn Chappell; sister-in-law, Margaret Orr Chatham, Blairsville, GA; first cousin, Geneva Chatham Taylor, Sugar Hill, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Payne was born on January 8, 1929, in Buford, GA.

She was a 1947 graduate of Buford High School. She was a homemaker and avid bridge player and loved all her special bridge friends. She was a member of the Island Ford Baptist Church in Buford, GA, and a charter member of the Frontier Forest Garden Club. The family would like to thank all her special caregivers for the wonderful care provided to Jean Payne.
