Jean C. (Santangelo) Ochipinti died Thursday August 17, 2017 at the Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice Center in Mt. Holly at the age of 90. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Jean has been a resident of Burlington City since her marriage in 1948. She was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Burlington.
In her spare time, Jean was an avid reader and she also loved to cook and was especially known for her delicious meatballs. She will be remembered by all who knew her as someone who loved all and was in turn loved by everybody. All were welcome at Jean’s house and she always had a houseful of people. Her front porch was where people gathered to talk and enjoy each other’s company.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Gennaro and Concetta (Martino) Santangelo, her devoted husband Anthony J. Ochipinti her brother Alphonso Santangelo, and her son in law Leon Danley. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Anthony and Terri Ochipinti, her daughters and son in law Connie Danley, Kathleen Ochipinti (Rob Coyne) and Gina Wheatley, her grandchildren; Chief Petty Officer Adrian Ochipinti (Kasey), Chief Warrant Officer II Nicholas Ochipinti, Anthony Ochipinti, Jr., Dr. Courtney McHugh (Jon), Tara Gallardo (Christian) and Janine Wheatley, her great grandchildren; Cailyn, Annabelle, Adrian, Jr., Tyler, Christian, Jr. and Baby Tess. She is also survived by her sisters and brother in law Mary Schiavo (Joe) and Gerri Barsotti as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
