Jean Bond Way, 93, formerly of Graham, died on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living in Burlington.

A native of Giles County, Tennessee, she was the wife of the late John Dee Way and the daughter of William M. Bond and Eliza Totty Bond, both deceased. She was a retired textile worker and was a member of First Baptist Church of Graham where she was a children’s Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years and a faithful servant and witness to everyone she met. She was known as “Mama Jean” to all who knew her.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Talbert and husband Roger of Graham and Peggy White and husband Ted of Burlington; a stepson, Ronald A. Way of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Renee Godfrey, Sherry Roberts, Donna Self, Chris White, Kelly White, Steven Winn, Barbara Taher, Michael Way and Mark Way; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; a brother, William M. Bond, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Way was preceded in death by a stepson, John D. Way, Jr., and three sisters Frankie Peden, Sue Chapman, and Margaret Bond.
