Jean Behlman Lampron, 94, of Prospect, died February 2, 2022 at St Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury, CT. Jean was the widow of Robert Lampron, Sr., her beloved husband of over 64 years before his death in 2011. She was born at home on Lounsbury Street in Union City, CT on June 13, 1927, a daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Curtin Behlman.  

Jean was an extraordinary woman.  During her senior year of high school (age 16), she was awarded a full scholarship from Chance Vought Aircraft to attend Purdue University for an Aeronautical Engineering degree. In 1944, it was unheard for a  woman to be awarded scholarships for higher education in any field, particularly the aeronautical engineering field.
She graduated from Naugatuck High School in 1944 and began working at U. S. Rubber/Uniroyal for 30 years, progressing from Key Punch Operator to Systems Analyst in the male dominated Uniroyal Eastern Management Information Center facility.  Jean was a strong, independent woman and a wonderful mother.  She will be dearly missed.

Jean is survived by her daughter Jeannette of Niceville, FL and sons: Rob and his wife Sharon of Millsboro, DE, Jim and his wife Shaun of Niceville, FL, Phil the world traveler, of Kodiak, AK and Keith and his wife Laura of Lebanon, New Jersey.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Joelle Devito and her husband Nick and the fabulous Golden Girls- Margaret Gibbons, Barbara Koshier and Millie Santoro.
After 67 years, Jean was reunited with her first child, Sharon Moran Buckley, and her husband John of Glen Arm, MD.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother H. Lewis Behlman, sister Dorothy Clark, nephew Harris Clark and her beloved Aunt Marb and Uncle Bill Hickey.
