Jean Austin Brown, 93, of Glen Burnie passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018 at her daughter’s home with her family at her side.
Jean was born on July 28, 1924 to the late Ralph Marsh and Roxie Magnolia (Burleson) Austin in Statesville, NC. Jean was born into a large and loving family. She graduated from Statesville High School in 1942. She married the love of her life the late Ralph G. Brown on June 25, 1951 in Statesville, NC. She moved to Maryland in 1951 following her husband’s new employment opportunity. Jean was a devoted Volunteer for the Veterans Hospital and had over 39,000 volunteer hours. Jean was also Past Grand President of the State of Maryland’s M.O.C.A chapter, the V.F.W Axillary, and a member of Solley United Methodist Church.
