Jean Arrington Ashcraft passed into the loving arms of our savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, October 5, 2022, after a long battle with COPD.

Jeannie was born in Long Beach, CA to Reid Arrington and Lucille Moody Arrington November 3, 1929. She was the first of their four children, which included Joanne, John and Tom. The family settled in Albuquerque during Jeannie’s high school years, and she attended and graduated from Albuquerque High School where she met the love of her life, Clarence Ashcraft.

They were married young and blessed with a large active family. Jeannie spent her early years of marriage raising their five children and supporting Clarence in growing the family home building business. As the children became more independent, she was able to become more active in the community and in 1980 became the President of the Albuquerque Home Builder’s Auxiliary. She made great friends during that time and often told stories about how much fun she had working with that group of women.

Jeannie and Clarence made countless friends through their community and business activities. One group of friends that was dear to Jeannie’s heart was their Sky High Invitational, several couples who would travel together for long golf weekends that became lifelong friends.

As much as Jeannie enjoyed friends and occasional travel, her real love was her family. She loved being surrounded by her family. She eagerly attended weddings, anniversaries, family dinners and the epic Ashcraft Christmas Parties. When health prevented her from attending, she would want a full report, the next day, of how much everyone enjoyed being together. She was even known to attend the festivities via facetime occasionally.

Jeannie is survived by her children: Ron Ashcraft and wife Laurie, Terry Ashcraft and wife Marty, David Ashcraft and wife Molly, Dan Ashcraft and wife Rhonda, and Lori Drury and husband Dan; sisters-in-law Caroline Arrington and Lois Philby; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; as well as loving nieces and nephews.
