Saint Peters, MO – Jean Anne Dempf, of Aspen Ridge Court and formerly of Crimson Circle, Troy died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital West, Lake St Louis, MO after a brief illness.
Born in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George Dequevauviller and Cathleen Daley Dequevauviller and wife of the late Alphons L. Dempf. She was raised and resided in Troy, enjoyed summers in her youth at Taconic Lake and acquired her passion for history

Jean and her daughter Susan shared a very special bond and devotion to each other. Spending time with Susan was Jean’s greatest joy. Always focused on learning and exploring, she welcomed opportunities to travel and meet new people. She was a very loving and dedicated friend who viewed those friendships as a gift from God.
An active and lifelong community volunteer, Jean was a member and historian of the Ilium Literary Club, served on the Mother’s League of St. Agnes School in Loudonville and President of the Mother’s League as well as a Trustee of The Doane Stuart School in Albany. A highlight of her commitment to our community was her work in support of the foundation of a cancer care center for children at Albany Medical Center in the late 70’s.
Jean was a 50-year active communicant of Christ Sun of Justice at The Rensselaer Newman Foundation’s Chapel and Cultural Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Susan Tyree Dempf, Saint Peters, MO.
