Obituary of Jean Ann Grohman

GROHMAN, Jean A. of Freeland, Michigan, passed away on April 10, 2016 at her home, surrounded by family. She was 52 years old.

Jean Ann Steward was born on January 25, 1964 in Tawas, Michigan to Gerald and Myrtle (Teeples) Steward. She married Anthony S. Grohman on February 27, 1988 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Freeland, Michigan.

Jean graduated from Standish-Sterling High School with the Class of 1982. She was first a waitress, then worked as an operator for Michigan Bell, and then a clerical worker for Tittabawassee Township DPW.

Jean and Tony have been active members of St. Agnes Catholic Church for many years. She was the founder of the Freeland hockey program and was an active member for the American Cancer Society. In her spare time, Jean enjoyed snowmobiling, dancing, fishing, and boating. She was a people person and fully enjoyed people and fundraising. Jean enjoyed nothing more than her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 27 years, Tony; daughter, Katie; son, Steven; parents, Gerald and Myrtle; two brothers and two sisters: Doug Steward, Stephen (Mandy) Steward, Tammy (Vincent) Quick, and Kathy Steward; two sisters-in-law: Marie (John) Kerns and Laura (Craig) Richardson; and three brothers-in-law: Dan Grohman, Mark (Ann) Grohman, Paul (Karen) Grohman; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Donald and Rita Grohman and brother-in-law, Steven Grohman.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Heartland Hospice for their loving care to Jean.
