Jay Thomas DeCrastos of Fishers, ran into the loving arms of his Lord & Savior on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis after a sudden illness.

He was born, August 7, 1960 in Muncie, Indiana and resided most of his life in the Anderson area. His most recent residency was Hamilton Trace of Fishers, Indiana.

Jay graduated from Madison Heights High School in Anderson, IN in 1979, and Ball State University. He attended church at Anderson First church of the Nazarene, Southdale Church of the Nazarene and was Visitation Pastor at Redeemer Baptist where he obtained a local ministers license.

Jay volunteered many years at St. John’s Hospital in medical records, visited numerous shut ins in his capacity as visitation pastor and led Bible studies as well as ministered to children in his local church.

Jay had an infectious smile and never let his cerebral palsy handicap his love for life.

Jay loved basketball, bowling and movies of any kind. During his young adult years he could be spotted all over Anderson riding the Nifty Lift bus to different events or shopping.

Jay is survived by his brother, Richard A (Sharilyn) DeCrastos of Fishers, Foster Sister, Lisa Lutz Woods (Rob) Yorktown, foster Brother Jeff (Buffy) Lutz, Greenfield, Nephews, Richard Jay (Amanda) DeCrastos, New Castle, Rev. Landon (Kara) DeCrastos, McCordsville and 3 very special great nephews, Josiah, Levi & Daniel DeCrastos and 1 special great niece, Lynae DeCrastos. Jay is also survived by a special aunt, Doris Mentis of Muncie and a special cousin Donna Harrington of Muncie along with their children. Also he is survived by a host of many foreign exchange brothers & sisters from all over the world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Martha DeCrastos, and grandparents, Richard & Lorraine DeCrastos & Arthur & Marian Harthan.
