Jay Carl Oster, departed this earth on January 2nd, 2010. He was born July 7, 1948 and resided in Anderson.
He graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1966 and attended Ball State University. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1999 after 33 years of service.
He was an avid golfer and had bowled five 300 games in his lifetime. He was also an avid fisherman who caught Sandy, the one that got away.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Oster. Son; Daniel Oster and wife Linda. A brother; Jeff Oster. Mother in Law; June & Perry. His step-children; Amy Robarge and nephews, Brad and Jamie Oster and Ryan Oster, Tom Hosier, Bethany Hosier, and Chris Hosier. Grandchildren; Alyssa, Austin, and Keygan Robarge. Braxton and Kiely Hosier, Carly, Rajuailo, Jade, Bianca, Yasmine, Cubie, and Angel Hosier. Brothers in law, Jerry & Paul Decker. Sisters in law, Kimberly Hopper, Nancy & Andy Brough, and Joyce & John Hollen. Special long time friends; Jimmy Patterson, Mike DeLong, Billy Sims. Very special friends; Rex & Janie Durbin & Familys.
He will be missed dearly by several cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as his family friend pet, Harley. He was preceded in death by his parents; John & Helen Oster. His grandparents; Roberta & Carl Muse and June and George Oster. His sisters; Jana & Judy Oster. Uncle, Bill Muse. A brother in law, Michael Decker.
