Jay Irwin Richardson died peacefully in his sleep at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana at the age of 57.

Jay is survived by his wife, Sherri Richardson (Baugh); children, Jessica Richardson and Natasha Richardson, and eleven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin Doran and Vernice Abram, and Lloyd and Mary Richardson, his mother and step-father, Judith (Abram) and James Silvers, his father and step-mother, Melville and Judy (Pruett) Richardson, and his brother Randy Richardson, several aunts and uncles, and a cousin, Jerry Abram.

Jay was born on October 25, 1958, in Martinsville, Indiana to Melville and Judy. He graduated from Bloomington High School North in 1977. He married Sherri, a rare occasion of a blind-date gone right, in 1983. The couple raised two daughters together. His children will remember him as a strong, kind, and hilarious father who always encouraged them to be their true selves. Jay enjoyed a career at PTS in his early adulthood, eventually moving on to spend over twenty years working at Classic Bowling Lanes, followed by Circle S gas station in southern Bloomington. He loved to work with people and enjoyed every chance he got to make someone laugh.
