Jay Graham, age 64, of Burt, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Memorial visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday at the Lentz Funeral Home in Burt, with a time of sharing at 7:30 PM. Military Rites will be conducted by the Seely-Walsh American Legion Post #425 of Whittemore. The Lentz Funeral Home and Crematory of Burt is serving the family, exclusive provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.
Jay Junior Graham, the son of John and Joyce (Baas) Graham, was born on July 17, 1954 in Burt, Iowa. Jay served in the United States Army. After he was discharged he enlisted with the Iowa National Guard and served as a cook. On October 25, 1997, Jay was united in marriage to Ann Foster at Call Park in Algona. Jay was employed by Casey’s where he made pizza, stocked the cooler and helped with truck. He enjoyed fishing; especially at Smith Lake. He loved to give his children advice on which tackle to fish with. Jay also enjoyed hunting, buck skinning and visiting with people.
Left to cherish Jay’s memory is his wife of 21 years, Ann of Burt; step children, Lee Kron of Minnesota, Andy Kron of Algona, Josh Kron of Algona, Ben Kron of Whittemore, Jason Behow of Waterloo, Jeremy Foster of Fort Dodge, Jessica Hanson of South Dakota, Jamie Kennedy of Bancroft and Jacki Kennedy of Bancroft; eleven step grandchildren; three step great granddaughters; sister, Janette Graham of Burt and special friends, Jill Petersen, Derek, Brian and Chris. He was preceded in death by his parents.
