Jasper James Sullivan Caldwell, our ‘Gentle Giant,’ passed away on July 4, 2023, surrounded by his family. Jasper was born on June 10th, 2014 to parents Valerie Caldwell and Justin Sullivan.Jasper was an extraordinary child who was loved and cherished by his family, all his teachers, teacher’s aides, friends, and his pediatrician, Sasha. He attended the School of Dreams Academy where he was regularly spoiled by the school founders, Mr. & Mrs. Ogas. Jasper also attended Sunshine Kids Therapy in Belen for his weekly physical therapy appointments Katie and team. At home, Jasper was a fun-loving, smart child who loved fighting with his brother, Jaziah, listening to music, dancing and singing. He also loved building Legos, playing video games and watching T.V. with his family. His favorite shows to watch were scary movies—his favorite characters included the horror movie character, Jason Voorhees, and the super villain, Venom. Jasper had a huge heart and loved to sign a heart and tell his loved ones “I love you.” He gave the biggest hugs that were filled with so much warmth and love. His smile could brighten a room and his laughter brought so much joy. Jasper is survived by his mother, Valerie Caldwell; his maternal grandfather, James Caldwell who he lovingly called “Dada;” his maternal grandmother, Antoinette Caldwell (“Hey Hey”); his brothers, Jaziah Caldwell (“Bra Bra”) and Santos; his sister, Jocelyn Sullivan; his maternal great-grandparents, David and Sheila Garcia (“Nana and Pop Pop”); uncle, Patrick Caldwell and aunties, Julie Fresquez, Lori Martinez and Ceci Duran (Mundo); cousins, Alexis, Madison and Carlos; great uncle, Randy Groves and Antonio Carrejo; great aunts, Bylinda Johnson, Sophia Carrejo, Christy Kasiuba and Michelle Carrejo; cousins, Olivia Martinez (Alex Lozano), Charlotte and Carmella Carrejo, Domaris, Nathaniel, Briseis and Julian Jr., Destiny, Aliyah Rodriguez and many more extended family members.
Jasper is preceded in death by his father, Justin Sullivan; his maternal great-great-grandmother,
Sofia Sanchez; paternal great-great-grandmother, Nellie Sanchez; maternal great-grandmother,
Marie Caldwell; maternal great-grandfather, Floyd Caldwell; maternal great-grandfather, A.T.
