Jasper Earl “Buddy” Newman, 65, of Goldsboro passed away Wednesday evening surrounded by his family. He is the son of the late James Earl and Nettie Byrd Newman and the husband of Dianne Kornegay Newman. He was a United States Army Veteran and was self-employed.
In addition to his wife, Buddy is survived by a daughter, Natalie Newman Garris, and her husband, Joel of LaGrange; a son James Michael Newman and his wife, Mary of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Noel and Joah Garris of La Grange; a sister, Patricia Newman Wilson and her husband, Dennis of Goldsboro; a niece, Angie Gurley of Goldsboro; a great nephew, Colby Hooks of Goldsboro; a mother-in-law, Jane Kornegay of Goldsboro; two sisters-in-law, Gail Herring and her husband, Randal of La Grange, and Sandra Outlaw of Goldsboro; and a family friend, Amiee Clark of Goldsboro.
