Jason Young, age 30, of Green Forest, AR entered eternal life on June 10, 2010. He was born August 19, 1979 in Eureka Springs to Ronald Young and Sue Shaffer Young. Jason graduated from Green Forest High School. He was a heavy construction operator and was employed for Crossland Heavy Construction Company. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing (especially deer hunting) He is survived by his parents Ronald Young, of Gentry, and Sue Young, of Green Forest, one year old son Braden Lee Young, of Green Forest, sister Devon Williams and husband Kevin, of Berryville, 2 nieces Kenley Michelle and Lexey Brooke Williams, of Berryville and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents William and Mabel Young and Les Shaffer, also one uncle Mike Shaffer. Jason began his love affair with the great outdoors at a very early age. His Grandpa Les and Grammy Billee would take him to the lake or river where he would pommie (throw rocks in the water) for hours. When he entered the sixth grade his sister, Devon, became his teacher, much to his dismay. Their mom had to warn them not to fight with each other. It was very hard for him to refrain from calling her names in front of his friends. In high school, Jason and a group of his closest friends named themselves The Posse . The local police force was sure these were a group of hard core gang members set out to wreak havoc on our small town, when in fact, they were a bunch of young rednecks! This group remains friends today. As he grew into a young man, Toad, as a lot people know him, became passionate about hunting and fishing. He could always get up before dawn to sit in the deer woods, but getting to work early was a whole other story. Almost a year ago today, on June 15, 2009, the greatest passion of Jasons life became his son, Braden Lee. Jason was so proud of his baby boy and he couldnt wait to teach him how to hold a bat, a rod, a bow, or a gun. Also, right at a year ago, Jason accepted the Lord as his Savior (at the Boyd Church). We will miss you, Jason, and we will keep your memory alive, especially for your son. A “Jason Young” memorial trust fund has been established at Green Forest First National Bank.
