On Monday, February 22, 2021, Jason Lafferty, of Aurora, Colorado, a loving brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to many, passed away at the age of 42.

Born May 13, 1978, Jason was a proud son of the Sioux Nation, raised in Littleton and attended Littleton Public Schools until he graduated in 1996.  Jason pursued an education in Industrial Design at the Art Institute of Colorado where he soon discovered his love for the automotive industry, and he turned that love into what would become a lifetime passion. Starting as an entry-level lot tech (washing and porting cars) in 1996, he invested the next 20 years of his life achieving the level of Honda Master Technician, earning the respect of the dozens of people that he mentored and those who mentored him.

Jason was an avid motorcyclist up until an injury kept him from riding, ending his many trips to Sturgis, South Dakota for the annual Motorcycle Rally, as well as his weekend excursions to the mountains.  Jason enjoyed standup comedy and would endeavor to catch a live show whenever his favorite comedian was in town.  A proud Colorado Native, Jason had rarely ever missed a Denver Broncos game from the moment he watched his first game with his Grandmother.

Jason went by many titles – Uncle J, Ninja, Chief, Polar Bear, Big J, Big Guy, and even “Little” Brother… Simply put, Jason was larger than life.  He was often described as a “gentle giant”, “legendary”, a “daredevil”, “full of life”, “dedicated”, “gregarious”, and a “wizard” for the way he naturally attracted the company of others to his bright light. His big heart, warm embrace, and intoxicating smile will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Jason is preceded in death by his mother Virginia Lafferty, and his nephew Brett Lafferty, and is survived by his sisters Cheryl Furrer and Christine Hanson, his brother in law Mark Hanson, his aunt Cyndi Porter, his niece Nicole Lafferty, his nephews Travis Vance, Tyler Hanson, and Jacob Hanson, and of course his best friend Linus, aka Poop Machine.
