Jason Douglas Gritten, 35, passed away May 17, 2015 in a canoeing accident on the Salmon River with long-time friend, Pat Lusk, doing what he loved. Jason was born November 4, 1979 in Vancouver, Washington to Phil and Frahn Gritten. He went to Fort Vancouver High School and graduated from Central Washington University.
Jason owned his own advertising company and moved to Coeur d’Alene to be near the great outdoors, which he loved so much. He is survived by his mother, Frahn Gritten of Avon Indiana; and brother Todd Gritten and nephew Chase Gritten of Avon, Indiana; as well as brother Greg Gritten, and his wife, Yvonne, and their children, Chelsea and Jake, of Fairfield, California. He was preceded in death by his father, Phil Gritten.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family who spent tireless hours searching for Jason, as well as the Idaho County Sheriff’s Department, and anyone else involved in this journey over the past few weeks.
