Janis Carol Carpenter, 75, of Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away on April 30, 2013 peacefully in the excellent care of Liberty Care Hospice House.
Janis was born on September 30, 1937 in Crookston, Minnesota a daughter of Henry Carpenter and Harriet Elizabeth Wood. She moved to the Thief River Falls area and graduated from Lincoln High School.
Janis served her country for 14 years in the Navy. Upon returning to Thief River Falls, she worked for Motor Coach Industries in Pembina and Arctic Cat, Thief River Falls. She retired and moved to Salisbury, North Carolina. In 2009 she returned to Thief River Falls to care for her special aunt Dorothy Wold. After Dorothy’s death she returned to Salisbury.
