Janie Love was born September 23rd, 1934 in Middlesbero Kentucky to, Lucille and John McKay.  She was the second child out of six children.

Janie attended Rosenwald High School in Harlem, Kentucky. In the early 50’s she decided to move to Chicago IL where her sister had relocated and found various employment. She met the love of her life, Mr. Howard Love and in this union six children were born, Sarah, Earl Lynn (preceded her in death, Annalene, Darlene, Howard Jr., and Beverly. Their relationship was truly profound with love and to raise their children.

They decided to move from the city, to the south suburb’s California Gardens Illinois for a better living environment. Howard worked two jobs while Janie stayed home as a homemaker.   After her fourth child completed high school, Janie founded employment at the Hysan Corp. in Blue Island IL.

Janie was a fun-loving person full of laughter.  She was known for her big lovely smile.

Janie enjoyed life and traveled to so many places.  Whenever there was an outing or trip, she was ready to go. Mother always said, “when life throws you a lemon, make lemonade out of the situation, pray over it and stay positive”.  Although she loved gospel music, she also loved R&B and blues.  Most of all she loved to dance, even in her late years. She was the life of the party.

Janie’s health started to decline over the past few years.  On July 5th, 2019, at 7:58 am God peacefully called Janie home, surrounded by her daughter, Darlene and Granddaughter, Georgetta.

Janie leaves to cherish: her memories, two sisters, Lela Robertson and Margaret Johnson; one son, Howard Jr.
