Janice “Jan” L. (Downham) Reeves, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2016. She passed away peacefully in her home, in Whiteland, Indiana.
“Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them” (Revelation 14:13).
She was born December 1, 1938, in Logansport, Indiana, to Elmer and Genevieve (Shelly) Downham. She married Donald R. Reeves, on August 8, 1957, they were married for 58 years.
Jan worked with State Farm Insurance agents, as a Customer Service Representative, for over 40 years; retiring in 2010. She was a member of the Whiteland Church of Christ. She enjoyed many friendships here, in Indiana as well as at her second home in North Fort Myers, FL.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and just the simple things in life. Many remember her as being a wonderful cook; she always paid close attention to having plenty of hot food to share.
She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Reeves, her two daughters: Debbie (Kirk) Smith of Whiteland, Cindie (Phil) Cottingham of Needham, one sister, Barbara Jones, of New Palestine, her four granddaughters: Megan Johnson, Lauren Clark, Hanna Cottingham and Taylor Smith.
She was preceded in death, by her parents, Elmer and Genevieve Downham and her sister, Jo Ann Smith.
