Janice L. Cooper a former Wichita Reserve Police officer for 13 years was born March 7, 1931 (Janice LaReah Asplund) in Kansas City, MO. passed at age 88. Janice is in Christ’s Hands with many beloved family members and friends. She is survived by her son Guy Cooper, Gary Cooper and daughter Christina Cooper-Fichter and five grandchildren: Tonya Cooper, Riley Cooper, Lauren Cooper, Cole Fichter and Christa Fichter. Janice was preceded in her passing by her husband Donald E. Cooper, a former Marine, the first Reserve Police Captain in Wichita, KS history and her third son George E. Cooper. Janice suffered multiple strokes, multiple heart attacks, diverticulitis, a broken hip and three months of rehab only to slip at her home in Palm Desert, CA. and break the other hip. Both hips were replaced. Janice had successful cataract surgery. Janice endured receiving two Aorta stints and was under full time 24/7 care for approximately 7 years. For the last year and a half her daughter Christina cared for our Mother in California and helped wheelchair bound Janice move to Littleton, CO where Janice passed away peacefully January 31st, 2020. Janice was an inspiration to all who knew her.
