Jan, age 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, May 8, 2016 under the loving care of the staff at New Friends and SouthernCare Hospice. She was born on December 14, 1948 in Adrian, MI, the daughter of the late Mervin L. and Elizabeth M. (Wimple) Chatfield. Jan graduated from Addison High School and Kalamazoo Valley Community College as a dental hygienist. She worked for Comar & Comar PC in Kalamazoo for 30 years until her retirement in 2008. Jan enjoyed many years of playing women’s fast pitch softball for the Adrian Eagles.
She also enjoyed traveling around the world, spending time with her pets, visiting friends and eating lots of ice cream. Surviving are Diane Malczynski of Portage; two brothers, James Chatfield of Adrian and Jerald (Louann) Chatfield of Tecumseh, MI; nephews, Jeffery (Andrea Wynn) Chatfield of Jackson, Aaron (Chanelle) Chatfield of Ann Arbor; and many close friends and extended family.
