Jan Reaume (63 years old) passed away peacefully at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit on May 11, 2014 in the company of family and friends. Jan was born in Monroe on March 13, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Justin and Ida (Welser) Sisung. Left to cherish her memory are her son Raymond “Scott” and daughter-n-law Rebecca “Becky” Reaume of Grosse Ile and their beautiful children: Raymond “Scotty”, Raven, and Reese; her daughter Carrie and son-in-law Steve Pratt of Westland; her siblings Donald and Jane Sisung of St. Johns, Charles and Cheri Sisung of St. Johns, Raymond Sisung of Rochester, Susan and Charles Bares of Northville, Ann and Charles Myland of LaSalle, Joyce and William Richardson of Lansing, and Joe Pente (brother-in-law) of Wyandotte as well as many nieces and was preceded in death by two sisters: Barbara Pente and Mary Sisung and a sister-in-law Nancy Sisung. Jan was baptized and confirmed at St. Charles Church in Newport. She was educated at St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe and spent her career working for the Kroger Company in multiple locations including Flat Rock, Monroe and ultimately retiring from the Grosse Ile store. She resided at Gibraltar Manor and enjoyed spending time playing euchre and bingo with her fellow residents as well as time with family and friends. One of her most recent cherished memories was a trip to Disneyland with her siblings. She was proud to have raised two children who graduated from college and are happily will leave a legacy by providing multiple gifts to heal the lives of others through the Gift of Life Michigan organization. The family wishes to extend their love and gratitude to the staff of Dr. Kalenkiewiczs’ office for their years of dedicated support in her medical care, Dr. Abdelhak from Henry Ford Hospital for his sympathetic approach to her care during her last few days of life; all of the staff from the 6 West Neuro ICU team at Henry Ford Main with special thanks to the nursing staff: Nancy, Bryan, Sally and David for their sensitivity and concern to her family and friends, and Kristen from the Gift of Life Michigan for her dedication and comic relief during a very difficult time.
