Janice J. Eckhart, 80, of Salisbury Twp., died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. She was the wife of the late Marvin T. “Dutch” Eckhart who died on October 7, 2012. Born on April 23, 1935 in Emmaus, she was one of seven children to the late Edwin and Elsie (Hartzell) Fischer. Janice worked as a fitter for Greif and other various garment factories in the area for a number of years before retiring. Janice was actively involved with the Salisbury Youth Association, having served as past president and vice president and was fondly known as the “Candy Lady”. She also belonged to the Emmaus Fire Co. #3 Ladies Auxiliary, and the South Allentown VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she assisted with making hoagies, and loved playing bingo. She was an avid Phillies and Iron Pigs Fan and enjoyed spending time at her home in FL for ten years. Surviving: by her loving family; sons, Glenn; Daryl L. and wife Staci all of Salisbury Twp.; granddaughters, Maggie, Autumn, Danika.
