Janice Irene (De Hoedt) Roose was born October 19, 1937, the fourth of six children, to Gerrit and Mattie (Van Wyk) De Hoedt, near Kellogg, Iowa.
Irene attended country schools near Sully. She worked for the Sully Co-op testing cream until she graduated from Sully High School in 1956.
Irene is survived by her husband Wilford Roose, her son Brian Roose of Pella, and her daughter Susann (Kyle) Light of Mechanicsville, Iowa.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents Gerrit and Mattie De Hoedt, and her siblings: Gerald (Verda) De Hoedt, Richard (Lucy) De Hoedt, Clarence (Jan) De Hoedt, Jacoba (Clyde) Combs, and Gerdena (Merl) Brown.
