Janice Elaine Briggs Covey, daughter of Everett and Clara Bowers Briggs, was born Sept 25, 1944 and passed away March 23, 2016 at Good Shepard Hospital Longview, TX at the age of 71 year old.
She graduated from Chariton High School with the class of 1962. She worked at Gross Galesburg Sewing plant in Chariton, IA and then became a full time homemaker.
She had been in failing health for the last 9 months but was able to be at her home and spend time with her friends, dog Phoebe, and her companion Bill. She enjoyed talking to her grandchildren and receiving the many updates on activities and photos.
She was married to Ronald Covey August 18, 1967. To this union two daughters were born, Karla Kay and Kristine Sue which were her pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald and her parents Everett and Clara Briggs.
She leaves to morn her passing Karla (Steve) Heffron of Melrose, IA and their children Ryley and Nicholas and Kristine (Mike) Wakeman and Samantha of Johnston, IA. Sister Norma (Pearl) Teater, Derby, IA, Larry(Dixie) Briggs Chariton, IA, and Dwight Briggs Corydon, IA and longtime companion Bill Adcock of Longview, TX.
