Janice (Brennan) Jurkenas, 68, of Sutton, MA, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday night. She was born November 25, 1953, in Worcester, MA, where she was raised. She is predeceased by her father, William P. Brennan, her mother, Eva H. (Gleick) Brennan, and her brother, Terrance J. Brennan. She leaves behind her sisters Noreen Harty of Barre, MA, and Gail Johnson of Sutton, MA, and her brother William P. Brennan, Jr., of Leicester, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
Janice studied at Worcester State University where she graduated in 2003, Magna Cum Laude. She was the top of her class earning her bachelor’s in science degree in Nursing, as well as a degree in Art; she was also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Society.
Janice worked at Worcester State Hospital for more than 20 years before retiring. She loved her job, caring for her patients, and her co-workers with whom she befriended. She was a very talented artist and always had a project she was creating. She loved to swim everywhere, but often swam laps at Brooks Pond. She was a very kind, caring, and generous person.
