Janice A. Meyer, 79, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Harold and Mae Owens Cooney. She married Jim Meyer on May 8, 1954, in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is also survived by her brother, Tom (Nancy) Cooney of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Pat Lawless and Mildred Haney.
Mrs. Meyer was a 1952 graduate of Routt Catholic High School. She had been a medical records clerk for her brother-in-law, Dr. Walter Meyer, and then for Dr. Madhusudan Vallala until her retirement. Janice was a member of Church of Our Saviour. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and spending time in Florida with Jim, where she especially enjoyed searching for nesting sea turtles.
