Janette C. Sales, 82, born August 12, 1939 in Wadesboro, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on the morning of August 28, 2021 at home with family.  Reverend Sales, was the wife of Pastor Pervin Sales a retired pastor and founder of New Genesis Baptist Church.  After retiring, the couple joined the family of East Mount Olivet Baptist Church. She continued being active with her works and relationships with individuals, families, clergy, and faith organizations in the community.  Reverend Sales knew the Lord at an early age, loved on all she met, and led many to Christ.  Her life experiences, health issues and previous struggles enabled her to approach relating to others, teaching, and mentoring with no judgement, directness, compassion, and empathy. She loved her husband and family. She was an excellent cook, skilled seamstress, published poet, had a great sense of humor, was gregarious, stylish, enjoyed writing, traveling and helping others.

Reverend Sales was a graduate of East High School. She graduated from Dominican College where she received an Associate Degree. She also retired from St. Stephens Health Center. During her life she was a foster mother, participated at Marysville prison ministry, Sunday School teacher, mentor, counselor, and confidante to many. 

She was preceded in death by parents William Crowder and Essie Crowder and Arlene C. Graham. Survived by husband Reverend Pervin Sales; Mother of eight children, five by first husband Willie Thomas Jr. and three children by marriage to Pervin Sales. Survived by brothers, Jasper Graham, Terry Graham, and sisters, Constance Johnson (Fred) and Renita Rolle (Demetrius).  Preceded in death by sister, Gloria Smith (Wallace) and brother Ricky Graham. Children are: Willette (Nate) Crawford, Pervin Sales Jr. (Priscilla), Malcolm Sales (Brenda), Dana (Chris) Trower, Ava Thomas, Miranda Clayton (James), W. Isaac Thomas, Lena Dodley, 18 grandchildren and 12 great grand-children.
