Janet Tiede Willits, age 93, of Rensselaer passed away at her home on Monday, June 29, 2015. Janet was born August 19, 1921, in Francesville, Indiana, the daughter of John F. and Blonnie (Lowry) Tiede.
A 1939 graduate of Francesville High School, Janet retired from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer where she worked in the foodservice department. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer, the American Legion Post #29 Ladies Auxiliary where she was a 38-year member, and the Order of Eastern Star, Evening Chapter #41. On June 30, 1979, in McCoysburg, Indiana Janet married William R. Willits.
Janet was preceded in death by her first husband Norman “Brownie” Brown, her second husband Bill, her son James Brown, three brothers Jack Jr., Bob, and Eugene Tiede, and a nephew Tim Tiede.
Surviving are nephew and caregiver Dennis (Dawn) Tiede; nephews Mike (Karen) Tiede and Bob (Diana) Tiede, nieces Jackie (Mark) Tiede-Checkley, Cindy (Dick) Tiede-Servi, Kim Tiede, and Vicky Livings, numerous great-nieces, and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
