Janet T. Wilson passed away on June 24, 2017. She was the loving and devoted mother of Patrice Rodriguez, Suzette Palmisano (Jay), Jacquelyn Mongelli (Anthony), Angela Phillips (Mel) and Vernon Wilson; cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren; dear sister of Angela Neary, Rosemary Jessop (Jerry) and Tessie Sheppeske (Robert).
Janet Wilson, our mother, was born November 9, 1933. She graduated from Seton High School on Charles Street, Baltimore, MD. Janet Wilson was not only a wonderful mother but was a great father figure in our lives. Our mother taught us many things as young kids that hold us in good stead today – good manners, respect and sound moral values. These values have made us who we are and we thank her so very, very much. As adults, she became our best friend, advisor and confidante. Her greatest quality was to encourage us to make the best of everything and to face problems head on. You will always live in our hearts. We love you so much mom and will miss you more than words can say.
Mom you brightened our lives. You instilled in us the importance of hard work. While growing up, she worked three jobs at a time – Migloretti Travel Agency, Dan Kain Trophies in Virginia and at night she worked at Double TT Diner. She taught us to be better people, to love more, to enjoy life, and to use each and every day to make a difference.
Over the years mom you have experienced many illnesses. Our mother suffered, among other ills, from heart disease, clogged arteries and spent seven days a week at the Lorien Rehab in Columbia, MD – three days were spent with treatments for dialysis for kidney disease and four days for other rehab. You are now at peace and free of the pain and suffering. You could say, in that superficial, physical sense, that she had a bad heart. But in the senses that really mattered – emotionally, spiritually – she was the great beating heart of our family.
Mom, thank you for everything you’ve given us and the warmth we shared during your precious time on earth. Mom loved us all. Mom was devastated that her beloved daughter was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the early age of 49. You only needed to mention Suzette, and mom would immediately start crying – her eyes welling up. Mom could never accept the reality of what this disease robbed from she and her daughter, Suzette.
Mom, you remain in our hearts forever.
