Janet “Suzanne” Spiker, 83, of Lafayette, IN passed away February 22, 2022, at St. Anthony Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born on October 31, 1938, in Lafayette, she was the daughter of George W. Martin and Helen K Gates Martin of Buck Creek. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Spiker Jr. from Otterbein, IN on June 14, 1958. They were married until his passing on November 30, 2016.
Suzanne graduated from Buck Creek High School 1956. Following graduation, she worked for National Homes, Market Square Bowling Lanes and enjoyed owning a children’s store at Tippecanoe Mall called The Green Frog. She ended her working career at National Swine Registry in West Lafayette.
She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She was very active in organizations throughout her entire life. She was an avid bowler and played in many leagues. She was a member of Eastern Star, Tri Kappa Philanthropic Sorority, and was on the Board of Phi Mu Sorority at Purdue University for many years. She was also an avid sports fan who enjoyed all sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her father George W. Martin, her mother Helen K Gates Martin, and sister Nancy Gest. Surviving are 3 children, a daughter Sonia K Schwartz (husband, Doug) and their children, Nicholas Schwartz (wife Amy, great grandchildren Jonathan and Olivia), Matthew Schwartz (wife Kristen, great grandchildren Theodore and Raegan), son Kevin L. Spiker and wife Carla of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and daughter Suzette Spiker Pritchard (husband, Brian), and grandchildren Jake Pritchard of Daytona, FL and Samantha Pritchard of Salisbury, NC. Also surviving are sisters Bonnie Bush (husband, Jerry) of Boca Raton, FL and Georganne Hardesty, (husband, Dale) of Monticello, IN
