Janet Marie Noykos, 72, of Midland died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her son’s home, in Midland, with him by her side.

Janet was born August 7, 1941 in Bay County, the eldest daughter of Theodore & Gertrude (Dewald) Nagel . She Married Raymond Noykos September 8, 1962 in Midland.

Janet was a nurse and a home health aide in Midland prior to starting a family. She and Raymond fostered numerous children throughout the years. Janet loved spending time on the lake, fishing with her family, camping and traveling the US. She enjoyed ceramics and china painting, as well as knitting and crocheting gifts for her friends and family. Janet’s most prized possessions were her children and her grandchildren, and her beloved Scottish Terrier, Allie. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Midland.

Janet was predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond in 2010 and a son Richard.

She is survived by her son, Russell (Melissa) Noykos of Midland; her daughter, Judith (Phillip) Manteufel of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Maria and Rachel Manteufel, and Henry and Madeline Noykos; sister, Jeanne Nagel, brother, Thomas (Debbie) Nagel; nephews, Jeremy (AnnMarie) Nagel, Theodore (Jennifer) Nagel, Steve and Todd Lowery, Matthew Noykos; niece, Karen (Jeffrey) Dombrowski; brother-in-law, Duane (Carol) Noykos; sisters-in-law, Barbara Lowery and Marla Curley; as well as numerous cousins, second cousins, great nieces/nephews, and friends. Janet is also survived by her special friends she considered family – Charlene Szczesnak and the Bard family from South Haven, MI
