Janet Lujuan Schelton, 82, of Anderson, passed away on February 26, 2020 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional. She was born on February 18, 1938 in Akron, Ohio.
Janet was a homemaker and member of East Side Church of God where she founded and was the Director of Friendship Ministries for adults with intellectual disabilities. She and her husband were integral parts of making sure services were available to kids and adults with intellectual disablilities which led to the development of The Hopewell Center. She also served on the Human Rights Committee at Hopewell.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Parker; granddaughter, Elizabeth “Libby” (Dustin) Martin; sister, Beverly Shelton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Schelton; son, Bobby Schelton, parents, Groover and Adeline Keesling; siblings; Woodrow Keesling, David Keesling, Ima Jean Miller; grandson, Jacob Schelton Parker, son-in-law, Nigel Parker.
