Janet Louise Hammons, 69, passed away at a Madill nursing center, July 2, 2020 following a period of failing health. Janet was born December 23, 1950 at Dayton Ohio to the late Dawson Arthur Yocum and Junita Hazel Eads Yocum.
Following her public school education she received an Associate’s Degree from Cameron University. Janet and Thomas P. Hammons, Sr. were married October 19, 1969 at Maryland, Kentucky. They were the parents of two sons, Thomas P. “Tommy” Hammons, Jr. and Adam S. Hammons.
Janet had taught Pre-K through the third grade and been the director of a day care center.
Janet is survived by her two sons, Thomas P. “Tommy” Hammons, Jr. and Adam S. Hammons and her sister, Patty Burnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Yocum.
