Janet Duncan Lewis, 69, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Cammie Davis Duncan.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Gary M. Lewis and children, Joshua Lewis and Megan Lewis, all of Flowery Branch; sisters, Jo and Jim Dinnan of Cleveland, GA and Jenny Duncan of Cleveland, GA; brothers, Deryl Duncan (Brenda) of Lawrenceville, GA, Wendell Duncan of Elberton, GA, Rick Duncan of Flowery Branch, GA, Max Duncan (Katie) of Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Lewis was born on November 6, 1951, in Buford, GA.
She was a 1969 graduate of Buford High School and of North Georgia College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Then in 2008, she graduated from the University of Georgia with her Ph. Degree. Mrs. Lewis retired from teaching in the Gwinnett County School System after thirty years of service. She taught at Fort Daniel Elementary School for a number of years. Mrs. Lewis grew up in the Sardis United Methodist Church, and she was attending the Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church recently.
