Janet Arthur, 73, of Bloomington went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2021 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Janet was born January 22, 1948 in Union City, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Riley) Addington.
Janet worked for 39 years at Bloomington Hospital in various capacities including CNA, Materials Coordinator and Medical Records. She most recently worked at Bloom Magazine in Administration. She was an avid IU Sports fan even working for several years as an usher football and basketball games. She had also worked as a Tax Preparer since 1977 and loved her time working with the Walk to Emmaus. Janet enjoyed bowling, all types of racing, and Sudoku puzzles. She was a long time member of Clear Creek Christian Church where she sang in the choir. Janet had a big heart for everyone she met and loved time spent with her grandchildren and family game nights.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Jolene (Marty) Dixon; two sons, Jeffrey (Nanci) Carpenter and Jeremy (Kari Fidler) Carpenter; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Dixon, Jake Dixon, Jeremy Daab, Shawna Zack, and Jade Dawes; two brothers, Dick (Deb) Addington, and Clint (Jalean) Addington; and one sister, Joyce (Jeff) Tharp.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents.
