Brigham City – Janelle Clayson Durrant, 56, passed away December 22, 2016 after unexpected complications from surgery.
Janelle was born on May 29, 1960 in Provo, Utah. She was the first of six children born to Orlene Lois Mayberry and Douglas William Clayson.
Following her graduation from Orem High School, she attended Snow College where she received an Associate’s Degree and met her sweetheart, John Henry Durrant, whom she would marry in the Salt Lake Temple on June 12, 1980. Together they raised their four children. She found her greatest joy in her family.
She is survived by John, their children: Sharla (Kimball) Benson, Mark (Lindsey) Durrant, Matthew (Emily) Durrant, and Suzanne Durrant. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren Kurt, Carianne, Natalie, Amanda and Kate Benson; Matthew, Lucy, Jackson, and Weston Durrant; and Annalee, Luke, and James Durrant. These beloved grandchildren were the light of her life since their arrival. She is also survived by her father, Douglas Clayson, and siblings Kyle (Vicki) Clayson; Scott (Becki) Clayson; Karla (Craig) Peeples; Marilee (Nolan) Jepsen; Brett (Annie) Clayson. Janelle was preceded in death by her mother, Orlene Clayson.
Previously she had worked as a Teacher’s aide at Discovery Elementary for 10 years, where she loved the children she taught.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which gave her both hope and friendship. Janelle had good things to say about everyone she met and made friends everywhere she went.
