Jane Letitia Watkins Ingersoll, 93, died Monday, September 28, 2009.

Jane attended Immaculata College, majoring in costume and fashion design. She owned and operated Watkins Costumes, after the retirement of her mother who started the business in the 1920’s.

Jane was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church, serving on the Vestry and as Chief Warden. She was a member of the Lycoming County Historical Society and had served as its president and on the board of directors and was a member of the Clio Club.

Born November 23, 1915 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Glynne Vertrees and Vera Richter Watkins.

Surviving are three children, Ann Ingersoll Crawley of Greenwood, S.C., John Marvin Ingersoll of Boxford, Mass., and Nora Ingersoll Nickolas of Loganton, who cared for Jane in her later years; a cousin, Barbara Musser Strickland of Norfolk, VA; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Jane was predeceased by her husband, Norman Stone Ingersoll; a brother, Richter Vertrees Watkins and a sister, Nancy Eleanor Watkins.
