Jane Piccolo Shaffer, 97, of Central Park West, New York City, formerly of Hamden, passed away May 12, 2012 in Roosevelt Hospital, New York City. She was the widow of Howard Bradley Shaffer. Mrs. Shaffer was born in New HavenMay 16, 1914, daughter of the late Umberto and Lucia Esposito Piccolo. She has resided in New York for the past 30 years. She is survived by a son, Howard Bradley Shaffer Jr. (Louise Whitaker) of Los Angeles, CA.; three daughters, Louise Shaffer (Roger Crews) of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Lucy Schwartzman (Martin) of Orange and Marie Shaffer-Foster (Gerald) of New Hampshire; one brother, Albert Piccolo in California and 3 grandchildren, Rachel & Michael Schwartzman and Robert Shaffer, as well as several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Louis, Salvatore, Joseph, Dr. James and Dr. Pasquale A. Piccolo and three sisters, Virginia Piccolo, Mary Minnella and Jessie O’Neill., 424 Elm St. (cor.
