Jane Kennedy Harmony came into this world as Cecelia Jane Kennedy in Waycross Georgia ,

August 1928 . Born of Tom & Eula Kennedy.  

The Longest Survivor of Eight siblings only four of which reached Adulthood, Tom E. “Buddy”,Hiram, Cornelia and Jane.

Life was hard in South Georgia in the 30’s for the Kennedy family sometimes without enough food to eat.

Jane’s older brother T.E.Kennedy Jr. went to work at the age of 13 to help support the family and Boy did he, from food to eat to college tuition to Valdosta State College “Buddy” made sure Jane and the family was taken care of.

Jane met and married George W Harmony Jr. in the summer of 1948 and were soon off to the Everglades where George was foreman of a sawmill.

By 1952 the young couple had moved to Clearwater Florida where George III and later Thomas P. were born and they resided until 1978.

Clearwater  saw the beginning of two wholesale lumber businesses first Harmony-Bennett Lumber Co. a partnership and then Harmony Lumber Company which Jane became an increasingly more central part of the Bookkeeping functions of the family business.

Jane and George moved to Cocoa Beach in 1978 and stayed for the remainder of their lives.

1983 began the big enterprise InterAtlantic. Building from the ground up a wood preserving plant that continued to grow and expand sales of treated lumber, timbers and piling until sold in December of 1990. Jane was in charge of “the Books” which became quite the task when moving 4,000,000+ Board Feet of lumber per month through the plant.

Through every situation Jane brought competent thorough and accurate accounting to bear, along with a goodly dose of moral compass and proper ediquite she learned in her youth.

1991 brought retirement and family occasions until 2002 and the passing of  husband George.

Jane is survived by son George Washington Harmony III and his wife Sue and sons Jason and David, son Thomas P Harmony and his wife Shannon, children of her brother Tom E.Kennedy ; Pat, Jan, Beth,Cindy and Marvin, children of her sister Cornelia; Ginny, Bob and Ed, children of Pat; Buddy John, Kim,and Jennifer and her God daughter Alex along with many other of their husbands, wives, children and grand children. Jane will be missed!
